I made a new background image for my Punquin Eloquent--style?--whatever, where the entries show up. Since I don't have much in the way of any graphics program, I had to make it bitmap and upload it to Photobucket. It's quite amateurish, but I like it. I made an icon to match, but will have to look around to see whether I can get someone to reformat it from bitmap to gif, or whatever.

Need to go over to Mom's today and get my stuff packed. The problem is that there is a deadline, and I just can barely seem to get moving. obviously I'm worrying too much and trusting too little to Providence.

[livejournal.com profile] moonbeamswift over at GJ linked to an article about slash fiction, which just abounds on the internet. The author was saying it's mostly written by women, which didn't surprise me. I commented that I reasoned recently that women tend to like verbal porn, men to like visual. Men apparently have their visual cortex (?) linked to the amigdala. The amigdala is the part of the brain that humans share with reptiles, a very primitive part. When guys see a picture of a woman they are attracted to, they not only get aroused, but the amigdala says, "go, hunt, find...". Women get aroused by porn, but they don't go after their object of desire. Hm. I wonder what a brainscan would show in women's brains when they read slash.

I myself should keep away from the stuff, though I haven't entirely been able to. So I know the attraction. The article says women don't go for the buff, perfect, guys, but I say they do sometimes. Uh, Fabio, Orlando, etc.(Fabio is ugly IMO, btw). On the other hand, there is a strong attraction the not so incredibly perfect guys--Gary Oldman, David Thewlis, & so on. I think guys don't care what a woman has to say when they are looking for visual porn. Of course I know there are exceptions to every rule.

I'll link to the article, but I will probably have to edit later.

Wow, thank you. I saw your icons and decided I had to see more as they came up, in case you don't do all HP icons.

The background turned out better than the first one I did. This is my second. I really like Jason Isaacs, well, he's cute. He's in Peter Pan, & even though I didn't see the version he's in, I like the images from the film.

[livejournal.com profile] i_blur posted a link to (his/her?) photobucket, where there are 1,000 screen caps from PP. Wow.

Your welcome. I love Jason Isaacs, too. I think that I'll attempt some Peter Pan Icons later on once I do a batch of Spidey 2 ones for my friends. Thanks for the resource for the caps. I really appreciate it.

I haven't done any other icons except HP yet, but if I find good screen caps then I don't mind making icons out of them. Thanks for the comments on the icons. I really appreciate it. Makes me want to create more. I posted another set of icons in the HP Icons community if you're interested.

I'll keep and eye out for them, Jaclyn. I put hp_icons back on my friends list after deciding it took up too much of my time to keep up with looking at all of them. But I got bored and couldn't think of anything else to fill the gap, so back they went on the flist after a couple of days.

If I see any more decent screencaps I'll let you know.

By the way, there are some really good off screen shots of Jason Isaacs from the set or studio lot of The West Wing if you want them.
