Jan. 26th, 2008 05:22 pm I had a dream last night that I found $20 in a magazine ad on orientation day at my old college, like I was starting out again there. Lots more to the dream, I saw my mom in an old movie with Bing Crosby(I do NOT like Bing Crosby) and Ian Mackellen was in my backyard.
After I woke up and was moving stuff on the desktop around, I found $20 bucks I'd tucked away "just in case". Whew. I gave my sis a check to cash yesterday, but I know she won't do it till Monday at least, if she follows the usual pattern. So I felt like i went from rags to riches, only having about a dollar-fifty in my known booty before that. That allowed me to come downtown, which is usually always a much better computer experience than local.
I hit Walgreens and got 2 boxes of Altoids mints at $3.79, crazy for someone who was just recently bitching about small amounts of money. But I read somewhere that peppermint gives you energy, and I've found out that it does do that. So it went from an extravagance to a mental health booster, so there. I also got a couple nut/oatmeal/ fruit bars cheap, becuase they are past due date, but I figure that's protein plus a bit of fruit and so called good fat, cleans out the cholesterol. Blah blah blah.
Made my last entry at GJ, since I had just saved the month of January from this year, don't want to do it twice. There is no way they are going to stay going, system is moving on, not going to patch the place up.
Well, I actually had the option for a while to have a 60KB icon, free, which I don't think you can do here, even with a paid account. But I sure am not complaining about LJ, they have plenty of options even with a free account, and they are not going to let the rug slide under us anytime soon. Or I think so.
I heard on a psychologically oriented talk show once that people who use "really", or "honestly", or "see, what it is", as though they are really trying to emphasize the truth of what they are saying, are usually lying. I forget what the expression was that the caller used, but the two hosts were going, no way, this caller's girlfriend with the weird exotic habit is made up. (Supposedly she was into bestiality) The caller did sound pretty iffy anyway.
I've heard that about how to tell when people are lying, that if they nod their head (like Tonya Harding did when originally denying being behind the attack on Nancy Kerrigan) or swallow, that's a good indication of lying. And as it happens, I use the word"actually" a lot. Lol, and I had a dream last year that I need to stop lying. I feel like it's probably true, and most of my lies are the kind that probably seem harmless, I don't announce my marriage to Orlando Bloom has been cancelled because he calls me too much, for instance. But I'm going to watch it and see what happens.
The reverse rule is apparently true about nodding, if you see someone shaking their head when saying something, they are pretty likely to be telling the truth. Innnteresting. *Shakes head*
PS: I have a lot of cleaning to do in this journal, lots of memories to erase, why did I make so many useless ones, plus drop some friends that are deleted, comms too. Weesht.

Date: 2008-01-28 08:14 pm (UTC)I guess I was thinking to save myself time at the library by not double posting, and who knows, I might get an amazing comment at GJ and not be able to say it. Or I'm just dang lazy....
I'm still checking in there though.

Lol, I used probably twice!
