I was raking up the seed pods from the locust tree in the back yard earlier. There are bushels of them on the ground still, a lot of it in the undergrowth, so lots of work to go.

It's surprising there aren't any bees around, though I guess it's a bit cold for that. The gum from the pods occasionally oozes out--it's a dark chartreuse color and very sweet. I'm absolutely sure that when you look on the back of ice cream containers and you see one of the ingredients is "locust bean gum", that it's exactly what I'm getting stuck to my hands when I load the piles of pods into the yardwaste cans. Maybe there's a fortune in locust bean gum going to the recyclers.

I usually read my friends page before I update, but some days I'm here forever going back and forth between fpage and other stuff, and I never get to update.

I am sure there is a mouse in the barn, since I've heard it at least 2 or three times, seen it as a shadow flitting around once and found some "evidence" this morning that it's there. I've been spilling things this week for some reason, and I can't figure it out, except that at this time of year I guess my hands seem to be a bit drier than they are during summer.

Wearing some pants right now that I was sure I was too big for, but there seems to be plenty of room in them. Thet=y aren't as long as I'd like them, Not because I have really long legs, but because of my naturally bodacious hips & stomach. Natural, matches the boobies, but I could definitely stand to lose some weight.

weird, weird: I realized looking back at my employed life and my weight and who my bosses were, that when I'd work for a woman, I'd lose weight, when for a man--I'd gain. How flipping weird.
