afufleI got a (very late!) birthday check from my dad, and most of it went to essentials like food. But I got some fun stuff for cheap too--such as the brand new $2 book bag from Goodwill:
The scan was huge so I'm just showing the fabric and the little drawing I made. Too bad I originally saved it in jpg, duh, that made the drawing pixelly.
The flowered fabric is from a really nice journal that would have cost way more than the very plain ones I usually buy, but it was 75% off the day I bought it. And I got a little wire bound set of microperfed 3 x 5 cards to sketch and make notes, at Big Lots. I know, cheap but what I really wanted, and handy to just shove in the purse. [oh, yeah, in the middle is a sketch of Ian McKellen]
I really really really needed a book bag since I need one to carry stuff in at least once a week, and you would think they'd be all over the place and inexpensive, but somehow I never had a decent one. And I love this one.
Lol, I really get a thrill out of small stuff sometimes, it's better than getting depressed over little crap.
Speaking of which, I haven't been answering some comments lately, which is just not like me. (KC & Devin, sorry!) I have been having some big stuff right in my face, more or less, and it's painful to look at, and not really that important yet to journal about. But it's been taking up my time.
The true drives me crazy problem in my life is one I've had forever, that I'm just a hoarder and a slob. The more stuff I clean up, the more crap springs up to replace it, and I can't move in my room because of it. But it's just masking some other problems, like I don't want people coming over right now, don't want anyone in my room. I just wish I could find a way to deal with this with a solution that is less obnoxious to me.
