By that, I mean Yahoo gave it's free mail accountholders a whole bunch more space free. I went from a 100% full account (still have to make decisions on what to purge, what not to) to using up only 4% of my potential--all without deleting micro-byte, if that's a word.

I often stay till the last minute, or later, here at the DT library, and at least twice one particular security guard had to shoo me out. Once he said "you really love that computer, " and I said, I sure do. He said, "but do you like it more than yourself?" I felt like it was time for Joan of Arcadia. What a wise question. Unfortunately, I feel more connected to people on the web than in real life.

The same guard saw me the other day leave at 5 till closing, and said "you're on time this time". I didn't think he'd remember me, but now that I think of it, it was not long since the last time he'd had to tell me the libr. was closed. My memory is not always linear. This guy is rreeaallyy good-looking, trim, black, shaved head, nice goatee. He and some other guard answered my call one time when some really disgusting guy kept muttering obscenities right next to me, as he surfed porn on the web. At the library, mind you, where anytime they can ban a porn site, they do. I just resented not only the constant muttering, and that even though I got up and left and sat at another computer, he came and sat next to me. Repeat until Liz asks him nicely to stop, and when he says, "Oh I wasn't cussing," Liz goes to the desk and they call security. He didn't recognize me I don't think, but I didn't even get that he was looking at porn until I glanced down at his notes with site names and adresses (kinky hot gallery, etc.) Duh.

Though they couldn't take my word against his, one of the guys told me that they'd had other trouble with this guy before. Also, he was on a computer that wasn't filtered, but you can look back to see what sites he went to. Just complaining like that is an alert, and if more people complain, they'll be able to do something about it. I haven't seen him since, & have a feeling it wasn't long till he was banned.

Bought some bananas really cheap, since they had a few brown speckles on them. I love bananas, they're one of my favorite fruits. Apples would be too, but lately you can't buy any that aren't genetically engineered to be large, juicy and BLAND. Yech. Grr.

I guess I'll see HP3 this weekend, I hope. I've got a zillion HP icons by now. I'm filling up my 1000 at GJ fast. I'm an icon addict. Sheesh, that uses up a lot of time--I guess I avoid doing more important things that way. It's also fun. I wish I could make them...

Ew, that guy sounds gross.

You totally should go see HP this weekend. It's so wonderful.

And have you heard that bananas may be going extinct? They can't ward off the bugs that eat them / infect them, so they aren't growing as much. Scientists are trying to find a way to change something so that they have a natural insect repellent or something. Or maybe they'll grow them in a biodome. I don't know. A world without bananas is sad, though.

(the downtown library attracts a few nut cases)

Aaaaaaaaaah! Must have bananas. In addition to being very good tasting food, they have calcium and potassium, and according to a Haitian friend, they're easy to grow in your back yard--in places like Haiti. And they're about the funniest fruit, too. :D

Oh, I've been all but dying inside to see HP, but it hadn't been in the cards till about now. It's just way overdue for me now. :p

Yahoo went up to 100MB because G-mail is out and it offers 1GB for free also. Yahoo doesn't like the competition.

I heard that too. I wonder how people feel who have been paying 20 bucks or so a month to Yahoo to get like, 20% more email storage than free accountholders had been getting. Someone I know was paying about that much for a little extra space. I forgot to ask her whether she's gotten a lot of extra storage now.

Weird that a month or so after I stopped using someone's home computer, the usual ton of spam, about half of it with large attachments (apparently viruses) suddenly slowed to a trickle. Hm. I think I changed my password just before that, come to think.
