Moonchosen
Apr. 22nd, 2005 05:05 pmI made a new journal here,
moonchosen, just to transfer all my graphics journals, that I watch. I have a jillion and they get distracting when I go through my friends page (which lately I'm doing only like once every two weeks. I can't get caught up anymore. I'm also just not willing to delete them. :) I'll keep a few here, though, since I consider the owners friends. And the name is unique in that it doesn't reflect the first letter of any of my names, first middle last. I have been using names like that without even really thinking. Moonchosen is kind of a play on Munchausen, and I'm a Cancer, so ruled by the moon, & I like the idea of being chosen. There really isn't anything to it yet, I just set it up in generator.
I guess I'm officially a junk collector--I picked up 2 small tables on Sunday, which is trash night in my neighborhood. I only pick up clean stuff that doesn't need any or too much work, and I have to like it. Lots of apartments and older buildings around here, which means some cheap crud thrown out frequently, when someone gets evicted or moves and just doesn't want to take it with them.
One is big enough to put my TV on, if I ever get it fixed, and it's in fine shape. The other is a tea table type thing, old fashioned with lathed legs, really well made. Only problem is it's finish is really bad. Someone tried to spraypaint it, then put Contact paper over it. The C. paper will come off okay, but I guess I'd have to strip and refinish it. I'm looking forward to it.
I realized something interesting about myself--that the jobs I've liked most have been service jobs, not associated with the restaurant business (never been a waitress, etc.) and not associated with art. I have a terrible history with employment, and I get so tired of thinking about it. But I have to since I've got to make money. I'm getting rather low at the bank.
