[incidental...some really nice free email cards: http://dovercards.com/ ]
Okay, I found out in 2 phone calls last week, about 3 days apart, that my older bro. quit his pot habit (which was really not good for him, it caused problems) [and he quit coffee, too!], and my mom quit drinking, which was a hellish problem for her. Only problem is, no one is sure she really did quit. She quit once before, but couldn't stay sober. She tried to do it all herself, but that's not usually successful. She also sounds rather slurry, but that could be just her teeth not fitting too well, and the fact she's really been sick for a number of years.
My older brother also has a job he likes, which will probably help keep him happy, therefore postive and forward moving and sober. :)
Anyway, that's good news, either way. Trying again after you fail is a good idea.
