Like the ex of Jim Carrey, actor Viggo Mortensen's former wife has petitioned a Los Angeles judge to order the Lord of the Rings star to increase child support payments for the couple's teenage son.
According to a Superior Court filing last month, Christene Edge contends that she needs more dough to cover the 16-year-old boy's assorted expenses (computers, trips, tutoring, car insurance, parties, etc.).
Edge, 48, now works as a teacher/librarian, but is best known as the former lead singer of the seminal L.A. punk band X, which she fronted under the name Exene Cervenka.
The couple's 1998 divorce agreement requires Mortensen to pay Edge $3000 monthly in child support (which, when the deal was signed, was actually about $900 less than she was entitled by statutory guidelines). Edge now wants about $18,000 a month from Mortensen, whose career has exploded, earning the 45-year-old star in excess of $3.3 million last year.
Edge and Mortensen are scheduled to appear today in Los Angeles Superior Court on her motion for increased support payments.

So I wonder how it turned out?
I could look it up, I guess. I'm somewhat of a gossip=lover, believing there is sometimes a kernel of truth even in rumor, and I like to see what people's life experiences are. I used to think when I overheard people at other tables in a restaurant talking that it was probably more interesting than anything that would be going on at my table, and that I might learn something. Duh. I totally don't think that way anymore, not in restaurants, and can't imagine that what I might overhear would be more interesting or more appropriate than what's going on at my table.
But sometimes items like the above intrigue me.
I finally went down the basement to make sure the gerbils were okay, fed & watered. I knew they'd be fine, but feel guilty because I feel like I should be down there at least every other day, at least doing some laundry. I've been avoiding doing that for 2 damned weeks, and it's been half driving me nuts, and the other half of me isn't at all worried, as I do have the essentials, clean underwear, socks & tee-shirts. My jeans are just not that clean. Not filthy, since I haven't been doing much, but really not clean, and I have been sweating a lot in this weather, & have had to walk some. So sweaty. Anyone else would have done the laundry already. Jeez. Stupidity blog ended for now.
